By Roxanne Rabich, Service Coordinator at Umbrella Managed Systems talks about another strong addition to the team: Justin Meyer.
Justin Meyer joined our Umbrella Family on July 10th, 2017. Although, in my opinion, he should have been hired 2-3 years ago!
Justin is a life-long best friend of our very own Kyle Barry. Any friend of Kyle’s is a trusted referral right? Well, it took several interviews for the stars to align, but we were finally able to hire him. Thank goodness! Justin is an excellent fit on our Service Delivery Team. The Watchman Clients love him. He does not shy away from any technical challenge. (Maybe Kyle is a good mentor too!??!)
Justin grew up in Spring Hill, Kansas but made the move to a high rise near the office a few months ago. When I asked if he liked living downtown he said, “yes, I love the lack of a commute.” In fact, the building’s garage door froze recently and Justin didn’t have to miss work since he could walk the short distance to our office.
Games & Sports
His other hobbies include video gaming, proven by participating in the first Umbrella LAN party. He also likes sports. He was on a bowling team this winter. But the lack of enthusiasm from his teammate made for a dismal season. Justin is the first person to beat Curtis Bagnall in our Football Fantasy League! Curtis was the reigning champ for three years running.
I asked what Justin likes about working at Umbrella. His answer is what a lot of the guys say – plenty of technical diversity.
“Umbrella is a great place to learn various networks very quickly. Supporting several clients helps grow your skill set and your confidence. That’s valuable for long term stability here or the experience for opportunities in the future. My former job was pretty stagnant. It was interesting at first, but once you learn the network… the challenges are limited. The combined knowledge shared among our team is exceptional – I’m always asking questions – never stop learning.”
