One Monday morning, these scooters (see pic) were parked across the aisle from my desk. At first, I really didn’t give it much thought. We have scooters all over the office. In fact, in the early years – you were gifted a scooter on your first anniversary. The guys ride scooters around the office all day. Michael even took one when we went to the Royals game last summer!
One of the scooters is a Hello Kitty brand. For some reason, Trent took ownership of it. Several years ago for Christmas, the staff bought Trent a Hello Kitty helmet and goggles to complete the ensemble. It was pretty funny to see him decked out and riding that pink scooter!
I digress…
There was something different about the scooters parked across the aisle from my desk. One was very small. It had a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle pouch on it. It occurred to me this must belong to Heath’s kids. They were obviously here over the weekend with Dad and forgot to take them home.
It made me reflect on our Umbrella Family. When I started here, Heath’s first child was a year old and now he has 2 siblings. It’s exciting to see our families grow. More of the engineers we’ve recently hired have kids. It just so happens most of them are on Team Bravo. This makes for a great team dynamic.
We consider our team a family. We consider our clients part of the family. And it was a fun perspective moment when I saw scooters of the little kids that reminded me these families are growing quickly. Our internal team has grown. Our list of clients has grown. What a fun ride!
