Umbrella Managed Systems was founded in 2004 when owners Heath Stover & Trent Peters found a glaring deficiency in technology adoption by many private practices. The pair were working with Heath’s brother, Dr. Adam Stover D.C., to implement a technology solution for his new chiropractic practice. In researching EMRs, none could be found that would work with him to provide and support a complete technology solution for his practice. Further research showed that a major factor in failed implementation was lack of preparation and management of the process. Umbrella Managed Systems was formed to remedy exactly this.
Trent followed his forte in systems and network administration to become an integral part of the tech startup ‘Tech Guys Inc’, in Kansas City. Trent then moved to an engineering position at Cerner, the leading US supplier of healthcare information technology solutions to large clinics and hospitals. Trent and his team of six managed Cerner’s International Global Learning System, a network of some 300 servers and systems spanning the globe. Earning many certifications and accolades, Trent’s engineering expertise enables Umbrella to provide a specialized technology solution to our clients.
Heath diversified and extended his education at Keller Graduate School of Management where he received an MBA. Previous to founding Umbrella, Heath led a team as project manager for a private management firm in Overland Park, KS. He has developed and managed streamlined project plans for technology implementations and rollouts. Leading projects for organizations such as Hallmark Cards, Sprint PCS, and Pizza Hut, Heath has a proven track record for streamlining project organization.
