Job Title: Project Engineer II
Job Status: Full Time
Salary Range: 50,000-65,000

Purpose:
The Project Engineer II:

  • Provide assistance with design and implementation of new IT initiatives and infrastructure upgrades for various clients.
  • Operate, monitor and maintain a Window Server environments including Active Directory, Exchange, and supporting services such as DNS, DHCP, etc.
  • Assist with administration, maintenance and monitoring of VMware virtual environment including hosts, guests and SAN storage
  • Assist with administration, maintenance and monitoring of various network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points and cabling
  • Use ticketing system to document symptoms and status information as well as assign an applicable priority.
  • Administer user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
  • Perform system backups and recovery.
  • Troubleshoot servers and workstations, and provide technical support for end users.
  • Maintain inventories and warranties of all computer software and hardware.
  • Document equipment configurations, procedures, and guidelines in order to provide accurate information related to IT projects and company standards.
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • 75% utilization of billable time providing remote and onsite consulting services and support for clients (65%)
  • Provide onsite client support in conjunction with service desk resources as needed (5%)
  • Collection, development, and updating of client network documentation (5%)
  • Assisting with the onsite implementation of client projects in conjunction with T3 resources (5%)
  • Provide primary support for specific technologies such as backup and disaster recovery (10%)
  • Other tasks as assigned by company (10%)

Minimum Requirements:

  • Understanding of various Microsoft products and technologies, including but not limited to, Windows Server 2003/2008, Active Directory, Exchange 2003/2007/2010, SharePoint Server 2007/2010, SQL Server 2005/2008, WSUS, Windows XP, Windows 7 and Office 2007/2010.
  • Understanding of networking/security infrastructure topics, including but not limited to, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, WINS, Routing, Switching, IP Addressing (Subnetting), NAT.
  • Knowledge of VMware virtualization technologies.
  • 5 to 10 years technical support experience
  • MCITP, MCSE or MCSA or similar
  • AS or BS completed
  • Experience with PSA and RMM tools (preferred)
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Comprehensive knowledge of computer and server hardware
  • Able to provide afterhours support and weekend implementation as needed
  • Non-Smoker
  • Valid Driver’s License
